Highland High School Band Director, Jay Ronk

Having directed the bands at Highland High School for nearly 20 years, and as the current School District #25 music coordinator, Mr. Ronk has had an influence in the lives of hundreds of music students in Pocatello.

Parents and students quickly come to understand that this is a man who is committed to excellence and achievement.

Jay Ronk was born on February 27, 1954 in Twin Falls Idaho. He married Suzan Johnson on June 7, 1975. They have two children. Jayson is 24 years old, and Bekky is 21.

Mr. Ronk graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1972. He received a Bachelor degree in Music Education from Idaho State University in 1976, and attended graduate school at Arizona State from 1977 to 1978.

Mr. Ronk enjoys hunting, and he collects Americana Series neckties.

1972-76 Member of I.S.U. Jazz Lab, Marching and Pep Bands, also Idaho State Civic Symphony and Percussion Ensemble.
1975 Drummer for Creative Workbench- a Swing Big Band.
